  1. Summary

Sans remembers this myth, an urban legend

About a deity who vanquishes despair

In darkest times, he comes with a guiding hand and a sweet voice

Why does he feel so familiar? Why does it seem like the connection he had is something more?

    Some call him "the Exalt"

Others, "The Herald", and other such names

"The Seraph" is the most common.

He's called many names, but a lone flower and a determined human child call him "Pappy"

    Summary

Yoo Sangah knows what to do. She can act human like anyone else and force back her hunger until it gets to be too much, then she feeds from whichever man had the unfortunately luck to annoy her enough that she killed them. She knows how to clean up after the act, how to make it look like a suicide, how to act shocked and grieved when she gets the news of yet another death.

Yoo Sangah is a capable, well-adjusted vampire.

That doesn't change the fact that she has no idea what to do when she's caught by the one person she doesn't want to kill.

In a world where the gentry families are both shapeshifters, and rulers of their territory in truth, a different war is started by greed. During its course the paths of a human and a dragon shifter cross, and from that, something grows.

Sweet and gentle feelgood (the bad stuff from war is never the focus and never needs to be).

The reactions are perfect. (Though I kind of wish the fic had room for Mushu's reaction.)

    Summary

An essay on the subject of the Wen remnants. Who knew that they were non-combatants? Were the sects really the victims of a misinformation campaign as much of fandom argues, or did they all willingly go the Burial Mounds to massacre a group of people who they knew were innocent?

I will argue the latter. A close reading of the novel text proves that the sects were all either well aware of who the Wens under Wei Wuxian's protection were, or made an active choice not to know.
